Forklift Ramps
Forklift SafetyForklift safety requires that workers are trained and supervised in order to prevent hazards from actually occurring. Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and construction regulations, all employers are obliged to follow a certain protocol concerning forklift operation. Operating heavy machinery can be dangerous, and therefore it is best left up to the trained professionals. Employers must make sure that workers are familiar with the equipment and feel comfortable handling it. All workers must be warned of the hazards involved in this type of work, and they should be instructed and informed properly while in the vicinity of such machinery. Supervisors should always be there to overlook workers while this type of equipment is in operation. Preventing Accidents with Forklift SafetyIt is imperative that any worker who has been assigned to operate a forklift without supervision that the individual has had adequate training to do so. The operator must know the hazards associated with forklift operation, and he or she should also know how to protect himself/herself and others from dangerous hazards. The operator should know what to do should a hazard occur, and be able to follow the procedures should someone become injured. Forklift safety is serious business. No individual should ever try to handle or operate forklift equipment unless he or she has been properly trained and warned of the risks associated with forklift operation. Workplaces that use such equipment need to keep on top of ongoing employee training, to ensure that accidents do not occur that can result in serious injury or even death. ![]() Get all Forklifts articles via
