San Diego Golf

San Diego golf courses offer a challenge for every player and provide for a wide variety of playing options. There are mountain courses, seaside courses, and valley courses on which to play San Diego golf. All the great designers are represented at San Diego golf courses and the weather is unbelievably kind for the golfer. Featured San Diego Golf Courses

Our first featured San Diego golf course is the beautiful Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club. Ron Fream designed this championship par 71 course which offers a slope of 131 from the longest of three tees. This course will require you to hit quite exacting shots if you're to avoid trouble. Watch out for the many boulders and deep pot bunkers here!

The Vineyard at Escondido was designed by David Rainville to feature a back nine that winds you through the vineyards that gives this course its name. With a slope of 125, it can actually play tougher than it looks at first glance. Don't always go for the pin on these greens, or you'll be sorry. Take the fat side and be happy with par if you can get it.

Carlton Oaks is one the toughest courses on which to play in San Diego. It has a slope rating of 137, but most players will say it must be higher than that. This is a typical Pete Dye designed course making use of his deep pot bunkers, railroad ties, and peninsula greens. There are five sets of tees on this San Diego course. Other wondereful courses in the San Diego area are Torrey Pines, Maderas Golf Club, Meadows Del Mar, Aviara Golf Club, and La Costa Resort, and they will cost you between $60 and $225.
