Rope Bag

by Linda Alexander

A good rope bag will make your life easier on the road. Along with your rodeo gear bag and tack, a rope bag will help you tote your gear around from show to show. It will also keep your ropes neat and clean and prevent them from getting tangled.

Bags come in different sizes and fabrics to fit your needs. They are often made of polyduck or cordura which will hold up under rugged conditions. Compartments keep your ropes separated and a front pocket is great for storing gloves or other small objects.

Matching Your Rope Bag to Other Luggage

You can get your rope bag to match other gear bags, in different colors and sizes. They all come with carry handles and some have an additional carry strap so you can carry it over your shoulder. A rope can is more of a structured container and is airtight and moistureproof.

Also, depending on your price range and how rough you are on your rodeo equipment, you may choose to buy a lined or unlined bag. For children, there are junior versions to hold beginner ropes. While the most popular bags are completely round, some have a flat top with a flap that folds over.
