Healthy Pet FoodWritten by Robert Mac Healthy pet foods are made by all the major pet food companies, otherwise they couldn't call it healthy, right? Actually, your definition of healthy pet food is probably not the same as Ralston-Purina's definition. When it comes to pet health, maybe we should let pet nutritionists decide what is healthy pet food and what isn't. Three of the five top pet food manufacturers are multi-national corporations working in a number of different industries around the globe. Their interest in the healthy pet food that you feed Jake or Buttons may be more commercial than nutritional. In fact, studies show that many of the big pet food producers use leftover ingredients, synthetic additives, and cheap fillers when they mass-produce their foods. Healthy Pets Require Healthy Pet FoodTwo-thirds of Americans are overweight because we live on a diet of fatty, deep fried foods. Grandma was right: you are what you eat. The same is true of your pets. A diet of healthy pet food will make your pets healthy . . . plus more active, thinner, and happier. Of course, a little exercise helps out, too. There are many ways to interpret what healthy pet food is or what it contains. For pet owners and animal lovers, it should mean something that you'd be happy and confident feeding your animal companions. When in doubt, read the labels and do your research to find the food your pets deserve. Didn't find what you were looking for?
