EPersonalsWritten by Jeremy Horelick EPersonals are the modern-day equivalent, some would argue, of the "drawing room." If you've ever been forced to swallow painfully dry Victorian novels in which socially ambitious and independent women shackled by their station in life are struggling to break free, the concept of the drawing room, in which one or more suitors gather to win that damsel's hand in marriage, is familiar. Little-known fact: that story line represents the plot of every British novel written between 1850 and 1900! But all digressions aside... From your virtual drawing room you can survey your courtiers based on their pithy remarks and wry social commentary. Or you can elect to divide them into socio-economic classes for greater ease, though be forewarned, a very small percentage of online singles have been known to adjust (slightly) the income they claim to make. Fortunately, there are a host of other criteria to review when reading over your EPersonals. What You'll Find in Your EPersonalsAs with any matchmaking tool, EPersonals are designed to let you put your best face forward. You may have won rodeos, international baking competitions, or Mega-Man contests. These are all good things to indicate in your profile, just in a modest, self-deprecating kind of way. Or you may have three outstanding felony convictions or a looming bankruptcy. These may not be the traits you wish to highlight in your ad. Whatever you choose, there are a few basic guidelines to observe beyond mere modesty. A sense of humor shows that you don't take yourself too seriously. At the same time, forced jokes or outright lies are a good way to ensure you get no repeat business You want to come off as dapper, dashing, and clever, not contrived or cliche. And no matter what form you choose for your internet personals, manners and promptness are almost universally rewarded. Didn't find what you were looking for?
