Once a common bond has been established through conversation, you can get about the business of deciding whether or not the two of you are physically attracted to one another as well. But without great written communication, it's unlikely you'll ever get to that next stage.

Do you spend more time griping about the snowy winters, the seemingly endless highway construction, or the need to escape Ohio? As small talk, these threads are fine. Mind you, diving headlong into these topics right off the bat is a good way to win the "possible stalker" label, which is bad. Go slowly. Listen. Respond thoughtfully. Take your time.
