So you've decided to learn to play the guitar? Congratulations. Studies have proven again and again that learning to play a musical instrument improves intellectual capabilities and promotes a sense of well being and emotional harmony. Playing the guitar is a great creative outlet.

How Can I Learn To Play The Guitar?

Now that you've made the commitment and decided to learn to play the guitar there are several methods you can choose to employ in your effort that will suit your personality and taste. Whether you decide to learn to play the guitar by yourself, online, or in private lessons, remember that it will take time to master the fundamentals.

The most important thing to do when getting started is setting a routine practice schedule and sticking to it. There is no substitute for continual practice to improve your skills. Grab your sheet music, find a nice comfortable place to play, and practice, practice, practice.

Don't think you can learn to play the guitar on your own? Don't worry, because you don't have to. You can take private lessons from a qualified instructor at very reasonable rates. Lessons can take place in your home or in a studio. If private lessons are too expensive, there are many options still available to you. There are many books that allow you to teach yourself. Try VHS or DVD instructional videos as another alternative. You can even learn to play the guitar online.
