Suzuki Sidekick Soft Top

Suzuki Sidekick soft tops were originally made in one type of fabric, and produced in only two colors. Since then, more options have become available for Sidekick owners. There are three materials commonly available for use in Suzuki Sidekick soft tops: denim, pinpoint, and crush grain vinyl.

Materials Options for Suzuki Sidekick Soft Tops

Like its contemporaries, the Geo Tracker and the Isuzu Amigo, the Sidekick uses a removable soft top with built-in windows and simple attachment mechanisms. Also, like the Tracker, the Sidekick's original denim vinyl soft-top was available in black and white only. Denim vinyl is similar to most types of vinyl that are used in convertible tops and soft tops, but with an appearance and the borrowed texture of denim.

Crush grain vinyl, another option for Suzuki Sidekick soft tops, has a similarly coarse texture to denim. Its appearance, though, is less like fabric, with a larger grain and no sense of a "weave." Crush grain vinyl soft tops are also available in black and white.

Pinpoint vinyl, however, is available in almost a dozen colors. This gives Sidekick owners many new choices for their tops, and allows them to completely change the look of the car. Pinpoint vinyl is used extensively in many different types of convertibles, and accounts for nearly 60% of the convertible tops sold.
