Tickets Online
Tickets OnlineThe ability to buy tickets online has revolutionized the way individual consumers and business owners buy their tickets. Companies that have established themselves as credible, reliable and secure online ticket brokers have changed the way we get our seats. More and more people are enjoying sporting events, concerts, and the theater without having to hassle with long lines and crusty customer service representatives. Every year the market for tickets expands. Professional leagues such as the NBA, NFL and NHL periodically add teams to the league to boost competition. These leagues have expanded dramatically over the past twenty years, making their way into cities that have never enjoyed the fun of having a home team. Consequently, online ticket brokers are helping these teams boost ticket distribution by providing a way for fans to buy tickets online. The Role of Ticket Brokers and Buying Tickets OnlineTicket brokers have been around since the early 1900s and have rapidly expanded their presence, using every conceivable venue to offer tickets to the public. Initially, the venues provided the tickets and ticket brokers served the public as the primary market seller. Unsold tickets were returned to the box office and payment was rendered to the venue for tickets sold. Brokers purchased the tickets at face value and made their money by assess a small service charge. With computers pervading the world landscape, ticket services have slowly given way to online ticket providers. Ticket brokers essentially serve the public in three ways. First, they provide tickets to events that are sold out through the primary market. Second, they offer first-class up close seats. Third, they provide ticket holders a place to sell their unwanted or unneeded or extra tickets. Today, buying tickets online can be as easy as typing in a website address, clicking your mouse on the appropriate event and entering in your payment information. You can literally buy tickets online to the Lion King in New York in less than five minutes. That's not bad considering some people have waited in line for days trying to purchase tickets (unsuccessfully). Whatever Your Pastime, You Can Get Tickets OnlineI have a number of interests, so finding tickets online could involve finding good hockey tickets or seats at a Pat Green concert. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Pat Green, he is an excellent American musical artist. I'm not quite sure how to classify his music. All I know is that it sounds wonderful. Anyway, I suggest identifying a broker who will become your single ticket provider. Whether you need premium seats or the nosebleed seats, certain brokers offer tickets online for just about everything. Be careful, however, when perusing the Internet for a good broker. There are certain things you should keep in mind during your search--credibility, history, service, security, documentation, and accuracy. The great brokers earn their reputations for good reason. I have remained faithful to one ticket broker for over seven years. Sick of buying tickets over the phone or waiting in lines, I decided to find a broker that had developed a solid online infrastructure for me to buy sports tickets, theater tickets and concert tickets. The broker I ultimately chose was a member of the Better Business Bureau, a founding member of the National Association of Ticket Brokers (NATB), and was listed in Dunn & Bradstreet. They earned my trust before I made my first transaction. ![]() Get all Tickets articles via
