Sports Motivational SpeakersSports motivational speakers are uniquely equipped with true stories of victory to inspire audiences. Their first-person accounts of what it was like to fight their way to that famous victory are deeply gripping and can bring audiences a new sense of possibility in their own lives. Take, for example, Lance Armstrong. Armstrong was born September 18, 1971, in Plano, Texas. Raised by his twice-divorced mother, Linda, in the Dallas suburbs, Armstrong's athletic abilities emerged at a young age. At age 13, he was competing in triathlons. At 16, he turned pro. Armstrong's first major victory, at the National Amateur Cycling Championship soon followed, in 1991. Armstrong's first Olympics, Barcelona 1992, were a disappointment. But Armstrong fought hard and in 1993, he won US cycling's Triple Crown. In 1995, he won the Tour Du Pont by the largest margin in the history of the race. A cycling star was born. Sports Motivational Speakers Inspire with True StoriesIn October of 1996, Armstrong was diagnosed with cancer. His chances at recovery were put at only 40%. Armstrong fought the odds, and by 1997, he was pronounced healthy. After rigorous training, Armstrong returned to racing in 1998. His victory that year at the Tour De France is the stuff of legend. Lance Armstrong had achieved one of the great comebacks in sports history. He is only one of dozens of great sports motivational speakers who appear regularly, inspiring and amazing grateful audiences. ![]() Get all Events articles via
