Chapel Hill Real Estate

by Helen Glenn Court

No matter your age or reasons for relocation to North Carolina, Chapel Hill real estate will probably be on your list of possibilities. Smack dab in the middle of the state's heartland, the "research triangle" of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill has a great deal to offer. Its rolling foothills lie midway between the mountains and the coast, two hours more or less from either destination.

The town of Chapel Hill (Orange County) lies just 15 miles southwest of Durham (Durham County) and 32 miles northwest of Raleigh (Wake County). Chapel Hill real estate puts all three cities almost right in your backyard. Chapel Hill is home to the famed University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Durham is home to the world famous Duke University. The state capital of Raleigh is home to North Carolina State University. It is from this famous geometric of neighboring university towns that the equally renowned Research Triangle Park was conceived, planned and built during the 1950s.

It might be retirement that has you thinking about Chapel Hill real estate. Then again, perhaps you want to or will be working in the area. You might have children and need to think about schools as well as everything else. Maybe you prefer an urban setting over suburban, or suburban over rural. Maybe you like golf, maybe you like horticulture.
