Chapel Hill Real Estate
Raleigh Homes For SaleThe average price of Raleigh homes for sale was just over $200,000 in 2003. This figure, however, covers a wide range of neighborhoods and house styles. Whatever you might end up buying, you'll be settled near the Neuse River in a state capital in a population of some 270,000. Raleigh is one hub of the university triangle, along with Durham and Chapel Hill, in the center of North Carolina's Heartlands. The area has much to offer, from the Appalachian Mountains 190 miles to the west, to the 600 golf courses across the state, to the Outer Banks 150 miles to the east. Where to Find Raleigh Homes for SaleThe full price range of Raleigh homes for sale begins at about $95,000 for a home in the East Raleigh neighborhood of Hedingham or a condo in a university neighborhood of West Raleigh. Across the area you'll find a generous mix of older and newer homes in this city founded in 1792. The prices top out at about $2 million for a house in the Devon neighborhood of North Raleigh. One of the most prestigious areas is Briar Creek. It lies to the west of the city near Research Triangle Park and a glorious Arnold Palmer championship golf course. Prices there begin at about $300,000 and move up. Other sought-after neighborhoods are to the north of downtown, a rapidly growing group of neighborhoods. Raleigh homes for sale there run from $100,000 to $2 million. To the west of downtown are the university neighborhoods of Cameron Village, Hillsborough Street and Trinity Square. Prices for Raleigh homes for sale here run from about $95,000 to $220,000. Communities in Wake County but outside of Raleigh proper offer another series of options. About a dozen municipalities in easy reach of downtown Raleigh offer the convenience of the city and the atmosphere of a small town. ![]() Get all North Carolina Real Estate articles via
