Chapel Hill Condos

by Helen Glenn Court

Chapel Hill condos are as viable an option for settling in the Triangle area as traditional homes and town homes and row houses. The choice is perhaps partly influenced by cost but primarily driven by living style. Certainly, all of the amenities of the greater North Carolina Piedmont are available no matter what.

The golf and fly fishing, the museums and vineyards, the Great Smoky Mountains, the Outer Banks, all of these are yours for the taking. This--along with the vibrancy from the tight triangle of first-rate universities and the economy strength of Research Triangle Park--is why you are settling here in the first place.

Where to Find Chapel Hill Condos

The Meadowmont community, on the immediate southwest fringe of Chapel Hill, offers two styles of Chapel Hill condos. One is the village condo with an urban theme in an urban setting. The hilltop condo has more of a spacious country-escape flavor. Prices range from the high $200,000s to about $400,000. Southern Village is another community offering condominiums as well as traditional homes.

Your realtor is best qualified, of course, to help you in researching and finding the options for Chapel Hill condos. Overall, however, a few statistics are available to paint a very general picture. The price range is wide, from about $50,000 to $500,000 or more. The square footage range is equally wide, from about 700 square feet to 2,500. Condominium options are scattered across Chapel Hill. Condo complexes include University Commons, Oxford Condominiums, the Gables and Rosemary Village. These are only a handful. Your realtor will have extensive information.
