Massage CreamIf you have ever had a great massage but have walked away feeling sticky or greasy, you have probably wished that your therapist had used massage cream. Creams are different from oils and lotions in that they will not leave you with a sticky, icky residue. You will not have to spend the rest of the day with your clothes sticking to you in odd places. Cream is a wonderful alternative to oils and lotions because you can still have essential oils as an ingredient, but cream will not leave a residue like oil. You and your client still benefit from the healing scents of essential oils. A cream can actually tend to rub like oil, very smoothly and allowing the hands to glide easily. However, it has absorption like a lotion. Your client will walk away feeling soft, not sticky. Chose Your Massage CreamYou can have as many massage creams as you would like. Some blends will relax your clients and get them ready for a day of taking it easy or a good night's sleep. Other blends serve to revitalize and invigorate your client. Find out what their needs are for the day and use the cream that is most appropriate. This little step could make a difference in the tip you receive. As a therapist, you are obviously going to want some sort of substance that makes giving a massage easier. Oils and lotion do this. However, if it was up to the clients, do you think they would rather have a substance that will leave them feeling greasy, or something that will be absorbed into the skin and leave them feeling soft and clean? If your guess is the second one, I suggest using a massage cream. ![]() Get all Massage articles via
