Gazebo Bird Feeders

by Sierra Rein

Shaped like their larger cousins, gazebo bird feeders are both classic and stylish. They add a touch of elegance to any backyard when empty, and attract any number of different wild birds when filled with grains, corn and seeds. They are the perfect gift for bird lovers or anyone with an outdoor area.

Traditional gazebo bird feeders take on the basic look of six to eight sides topped by a pointed roof. The specific style depends on the original artist or designer, who can include any number of elements, decorative windows and multiple-tiered roofs. However, as long as there is a functional perch or standing area from which a bird can eat, the actual style is purely an aesthetic choice.

There are many different building materials utilized for gazebo bird feeders. Your choice may be based on the overall look of the bird feeder you prefer, whether it be made of delicate copper and glass, or sturdy traditional wood. However, some people prefer to choose a metal that is easy to clean and maintain, like weather-durable brass.

Cleaning Gazebo Bird Feeders over the Years

Because bird feeders are left to the elements, they can become dirty from weather, grime, pollution, bird droppings, bugs and leftover feed. It is important to learn how to clean your bird feeder, especially if it offers removable glass sides for easy access. Be sure to use cleaning materials and soaps that are non-toxic to birds and other wildlife and rinse the feeder with water completely before re-hanging it.
