Night Vision Scopes

Night vision scopes come in two basic forms: spotting scopes, and rifle scopes. Rifle night vision scopes allow you to see your prey in the near darkness. With the assistance of just starlight, moonlight, and a built-in infrared light, you can see your prey in luminous green.

Aiming with Rifle Night Vision Scopes

The rifle scope generally comes with an illuminated reticle to help you aim. This reticle can be adjustable, and often comes in either green on green, or red on green. You can adjust the intensity of the reticle's brightness to suit your tastes and needs.

Spotting night vision scopes, as opposed to rifle scopes, are good for camping, home security, and boating. These scopes can also generally be added to and improved upon easily. You can often attach a video camera, and can usually add magnification, as well.

NV scopes work on the same simple principle as other NV products. Ambient light enters the lens. This minimal light is focused into the image intensifier tube, where its basic particles (photons) are turned into electrons. These electrons are acted upon so that they multiply in number. They are focused onto a green screen, where the viewer looks at them through his eye piece. A high-powered battery powers the entire operation.
