Anti-wrinkle Skin CareThe best treatment for wrinkles is not to get them in the first place. Anti-wrinkle skin care should be part of the daily regimen for anyone who wants to retain smooth, youthful-looking skin. Good skin care habits started in your 20s can forestall expensive and uncomfortable treatments in your 60s. Products for Anti-Wrinkle Skin CareThough the number of products touted for anti-wrinkle skin care is huge, and increasing exponentially as the population ages, there are really only two main products necessary for prevention: moisturizer and sunscreen. Wrinkles are caused by the gradual drying and thinning of skin as we age, combined with loss of elasticity and sagging muscles underlying the skin. Damage from ultraviolet rays and environmental pollution hasten these aging effects. No matter what climate you live in, sunscreen is a must. Protecting your skin from UV rays is the single best method of anti-wrinkle skin care. Not only does the sun hasten the loss of elasticity in the skin, but it is also proven to be a trigger for various forms of skin cancer, some of which are life-threatening. As soon as you notice the first sign of dryness in your skin, begin using a moisturizer faithfully. These can range from light lotions for the T-zone to heavier creams for the eye area, and should be applied twice a day. Even a drop or two of olive oil can serve as an inexpensive but workable moisturizer. Don't use anything containing petroleum products, though, because they clog the pores. If you haven't been using moisturizer and sunscreen, start today, and hold tomorrow's wrinkles at bay. ![]() Get all Skin Care articles via
