Microdermabrasion Equipment
Microdermabrasion BenefitsThe most dramatic microdermabrasion benefits accrue to any client afflicted with fine lines, acne pitting, scars or surface skin discoloration. However, even those without significant flaws can see an improvement in their skin after this procedure. Microdermabrasion benefits include clearer, brighter, fresher-looking skin, reduced pores and some tightening of the underlying tissue. Microdermabrasion Benefits for Flawed SkinThe microdermabrasion process is basically a cellular-level form of sandblasting. Tiny crystals of aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate bombard the skin, breaking up dead cells that collect on the top layer of the epidermis. The crystals, dead cells and debris are then suctioned away. Since the top layers of the skin are "sanded away," fine lines around the eyes and lips can virtually disappear after repeated treatments. Deeper lines are softened and improved, as are pitting and scarring from acne. Again, it will take several treatments to see real results. There are also significant microdermabrasion benefits for uneven pigmentation and sun spots. However, even those with no noticeable variation in skin tone will see an improvement in the clarity and brightness of the skin after just one treatment. The dead cells and debris that collect on the top layer of the skin reduce brightness the way dirt on a window reduces light coming through. Regular use of exfoliants helps keep this top layer clean, but it's impossible to do as thorough a job with exfoliants without irritating your skin. Microdermabrasion is painless, does not injure the skin and has no significant aftereffects, just a nice glow. ![]() Get all Skin Care articles via
