Coil Binding Systems

by Liza Hartung

When you find that you are in need of some quick and easy binding, try looking into coil binding systems. Your document is bound either along the top or the left-hand side with a PVC filament shaped like a coil. Your pages are first punched, and then threaded with the filament. This is a great way to produce presentation-quality bound documents.

If you aren't quite sure that this is the way you want to go with your binding, start doing some research. Go on the Internet, use your favorite search engine, and see what you come up with. You will find all kinds of coil binding systems. You can see what kind of features they offer and how much they cost. Another option is to go to a nearby office supply store and see what questions they can answer. They probably won't have the selection you can find online, but they should be of some service.

Coil Binding Systems for You

Coil bound documents are so convenient because they lay flat and open fully. When I say, "open fully" I don't just mean that they open like a regular book. No, you can wrap them around so you are only looking at one page at a time, and you aren't bending any of the other pages.

You have a lot of creative control when it comes to coil binding systems. There are many different colors you can choose from with your coil, and you control how thick and how far apart your coils are. Coil binding is great for reports, booklets, calendars, cookbooks and other such documents.
