Hilton Head Island Villas
Hilton Head LodgingYou'll be hard pressed not to find something to fit your style and budget among Hilton Head lodging options. The island offers more than 3,000 hotel rooms and 7,000 villas for your vacation stay. If you'd prefer camping, whether RV or tent, you've choices in that as well. Whatever Hilton Head lodging you choose, you're sure to enjoy the semi-tropical temperatures, salty breezes, and lush beauty. Rates vary, of course, depending on the season and location. You'll want to book your reservations for Hilton Head lodging as much in advance as you can. Your views may be of the ocean, a harbor, or a challenging championship golf course. Sunsets are renowned over Hilton Head's many marinas, as you stand on your balcony after a day's enjoyment of all this island has to offer. What to See and Do from Your Hilton Head LodgingHilton Head is renowned for its many recreational opportunities, of course. But it is far more than that. A naturalist's delight, Hilton Head is rich in habitats and wildlife. Its freshwater wetlands, saltwater marshes, and maritime forests are home to an incredible array of flora and fauna. Trees and shrubs on the island are characterized by low and spreading crowns, deep root systems, and waxy leaves and needles. All this is a response to the environmental conditions on Hilton Head--salt air, sandy soil, ocean storms, and scant fresh water. The more sports-oriented may remark on the richness of the lagoons and wetlands from the lush fairways of Hilton Head's 24 championship golf courses. These, designed by master architects such as Robert Trent Jones and Tom Fazio, crisscross the island along with a network of biking and hiking paths. A baker's dozen or more of Hilton Head marinas offer opportunities for deep-sea fishing, sailing, kayaking, and cruises. Looking down on all this, of course, are the para-sailers, who may just enjoy the best of all possible views on Hilton Head. ![]() Get all South Carolina Travel articles via
