Sign Language Interpreting Services
Hearing Impaired ResourcesIf you are looking for hearing impaired resources, they are easier to find than you might think. Resources are everywhere, and if you don't find exactly what you are looking for, ask another resource! People are generally willing to help you locate the information that you need. Libraries Have Hearing Impaired ResourcesLibraries are easily accessible public hearing impaired resources. If you need information about deafness, or to locate resources in your community, start at your local library. You'll find books, periodicals, CD-ROMs, and videos to educate you about deaf culture and education, sign language, and communication. Another great place to find hearing impaired resources is your local deaf organization. Most states, and some counties or cities, have them. They are there to provide deaf services or to refer you to the services you need. Becoming a member is something you might consider. These types of organizations promote interaction among hearing impaired people as well as within the hearing community. They also promote laws serving the interests of the deaf, and can help you get the best quality o life possible. If you still need more resources, try your local government. Often, there are agencies that serve the needs of the hearing impaired and they can help you with your deaf-related needs. ![]() Get all Disabilities articles via
