Cell Phones - Pagers and Cellphone Service
Cell Phone ComparisonsIt is well worth your while to devote a few hours to cell phone comparisons before committing to a vendor and plan. If you don't, you might find that you're paying far more than you need to each month for far too few minutes of time that you can spend talking on the phone. Maybe you're on the road all the time, whether driving your kids to and from school and endless activities, or showing properties to prospective buyers. Maybe you don't have a land line. Whatever the situation, you want to be able to make and take the calls you need to make without dreading the bill at the end of the month. Competition being what it is among the major service providers, special offers abound. The choices in cell phone comparisons are sometimes, even often, bewildering. Before you make a final decision, read the fine print of the contract terms. Check to see if there's a penalty if you decide to switch vendors before the contract expires. There usually is. Cell Phone Comparisons: Several ItemsThe first category of cell phone comparisons is probably the vendor--Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, Cingular, Nextel, T-mobile, to name just a few. Check their coverage areas. Find out both what vendors your friends and colleagues use and if any of those vendors offer free in-network call time. The second category is the array of plans themselves. You'll be faced with various combinations of choices--so many minutes of prime time calling for so many dollars a month, with or without long distance included, and so on. A third category is the choice of the telephone itself--do you want a flip-phone, text messaging, camera, email, or paging? You'll find that the time you take searching these differences and more is well spent. Be wary of offers that seem to be too good to be true. That's a cliché, of course, but nonetheless worth remembering. Good luck! ![]() Get all Cell Phones articles via
