Country Art

by Charles Peacock

Country art is a great way to celebrate the proud history of our nation. It has become particularly popular in recent years, perhaps because of our fondness and nostalgia for the past. Country art exists in a lot of different forms, some of which we'll take a look at here.

Country Art Genres

The most common type of country art is art that depicts the old American countryside. Paintings of fields and farms bathed in sunlight have graced the walls of American homes for centuries, and their popularity has not subsided. You can easily find this type of art on most internet art sites.

Another type of country art, known as "Americana," follows a specific style of utilizing national symbols. Paintings and crafts that display eagles, stars, and flags fit into this category. This type of "faux-old fashioned" art can also be found in great supply at any art shop.

Celebrating our national heritage is certainly a patriotic thing to do, but we're lucky enough to live in a nation with relatively attractive national symbols. This has always been a nation of great beauty, and country artwork celebrates that beauty. Even if you don't live in a farmhouse, it can be a great genre to add to your home decor.
