Norman Rockwell PrintsNormal Rockwell prints are one of the most iconic forms of American art. No matter how young or old you are, you most certainly know and love Rockwell's clean, warm style and his humorous touch. We're all familiar with Normal Rockwell prints, but who was the man behind the paintings? The History behind Normal Rockwell PrintsNormal Rockwell was born in New York City in 1894. From a young age, he knew he wanted to be an artist. He displayed a great deal of talent, and was enrolled in art school at the age of 14. Still a teenage, Rockwell was given the job of art director for the national magazine of the Boy Scouts. He would never look back. At the age of 22, he painted his first cover for the Saturday Evening Post. He would go on to do 321 more covers over the course of his career. Normal Rockwell prints present the innocence and optimism of America in its heyday. Free of the cynicism and sarcasm of contemporary times, they are like a breath of fresh air. If you're interested in learning more about Normal Rockwell or purchasing prints of his work, there are plenty of websites on the Internet that will help you in your search. ![]() Get all Posters articles via
