Boston Homes

by James Lyons

Boston homes are as varied as the people living in Boston. In terms of the architecture, there are influences from every major time period. There are influences from several different cultures and countries. Living in Boston, at times, can be like living in a museum. At one corner you might see a Victorian style home and at the other you might see a Tudor home. Boston has it all.

Because many Boston homes are incredibly old, the plumbing and wiring in these homes is also old. If you are partial to the old-styled houses, be sure to ask your Boston real estate agent about the plumbing and wiring. The nicer homes are kept up to date without sacrificing the historical quality of the house. Many still have the original pipes but they have been consistently maintained over the years.

Boston Homes Are Moving Fast

Boston is no longer a secret. You might be thinking, "Thanks for that piece of information. Several million people living in the metropolitan area so apparently the word got out a long time ago." The truth is that most people who grow up in Boston, stay in Boston. Most people who move to Boston stay in Boston. It's not only that Boston attracts million of new people; it's that Boston doesn't lose a bunch of people every year.

Consequently, Boston homes are drying up, especially the older homes. People who live in Boston rarely leave for good because the city has so much to offer.
