Low Carb Foods - Carb Reduction Diets and Menus
Sugar Free RecipesFor those of you who like to bake, but recently started on a low carb diet, there are tons of sugar free recipes for you to enjoy. You will have to experiment and find the ones that taste the best. I'll be honest, some of these recipes just don't taste very good. However, I have had others where I either couldn't tell the difference, or thought it was better than the regular kind. You can pretty much make any kind of dessert you want these days and have it be sugar free. The popular ingredients for adding sweetness are sugar substitutes, molasses, maple syrup, and natural fruit juices. You can try a bunch of sugar free recipes to see which one works best for you. You may even come up with your own recipes or ways to sweeten things. Many times, when finding recipes online, they will have them rated as to how good they taste. You can read these and make a decision as to whether you want to try it. Sugar Free Recipes and Sugar SubstitutesWe all know the popular sugar substitutes. They are Sweet 'n' Low, NutraSweet, Splenda, and more. However, many of us also know of the dangers that aspartame, the key ingredient in NutraSweet, poses. Just to refresh your memory, it has been known to cause depression, dizziness, panic attacks, irritability, anxiety, and damage to memory and concentration. Does that sound like something you want to be involved in? Then, people thought that sucralose, the key ingredient in Splenda, was the answer for sugar free recipes. It does not contain aspartame. However, sucralose has now been linked to several health issues such as damage to the gland responsible for the immune system. In addition, swelling of the liver and kidneys and calcification of the kidneys has also been found. If you are eating Splenda and you experience bladder irritation or pain in the kidneys, you should stop immediately. ![]() Get all Low Carb articles via
