Plasma TV MountsThere are many options available for plasma TV mounts, both standard and innovative. The most familiar are wall mounts and table stands, both of which you have probably seen in showrooms and on commercials. Depending on if the plasma display is in a residence or a boardroom, some options will be more appropriate than others. Table stand displays are typically made by the television manufacturer, as each television will fit into the stand differently. But part of the appeal of plasma televisions for many people is that they can be mounted on walls or above fireplaces, and to do so, you will need a wall mount. Of all plasma TV mounts, a flat wall mount is the common, adding less than two inches of depth to the screen. Options for Plasma TV MountsIf you are looking for some more flexibility in mounting your plasma television, you may want to consider a tilt wall mount, which allows the screen to be tilted up to 15 or 20 degrees (depending on the manufacturer) if the television is above eye level. A ceiling mount could be used in conjunction with a tilt mount, extending the display anywhere from 24 to 43 inches from the ceiling. Perhaps the most flexible plasma TV mount is the articulating mount which allows the television to be flush against the wall as well as rotated up to 120 degrees to either side and up to 10 degrees vertically. A plasma television can be a large investment, and mounting it on a wall is usually a multi-person job. With some care, this can be done by you and a friend, but you may be more comfortable with professional installation, particularly if you are trying to hide cable wires. Whichever of the plasma TV mounts you choose to use, you are certain to enjoy the television itself and the elegant aesthetic of the display. ![]() Get all Home Theater articles via
