Time Management Training
Time Management SkillsAcquiring time management skills can give you the control over your life that you long for. Most of us spend a lot of time complaining about how we never have the time to do things we need to. We talk about there not being "enough hours in the day." So how is it that some people always seem to get the important things done, no matter how busy they are? Prioritizing well is key here. In fact, prioritizing can be classed as one of the most important time management skills. Identifying tasks that need to be done as part of your overall life goals, and those which are simply time consuming for the sake of it, will give you powerful insights into what you need to keep and what you need to let go. Learning to cut out time wasting activities that will do little to further you in any aspect of your life will leave you with free time to build on your dreams. Your Time, and Time Management SkillsBeginning to think about your time in terms of a valuable commodity will help you to keep things in perspective. There are activities which may not give much in terms of tangible production, but that are priceless in terms of the meaning they bring to your life. Spending time with loved ones is an example, as is spending time on your health, perhaps by cooking a delicious, healthy meal, or taking a run in the park. Activities such as these are essential as part of your life, so don't allow your new time management skills to factor them out. However, spending hours waiting for people who are late for appointments, or standing in queues, can mean that you have very little valuable time left over. If this applies to you on a regular basis, do something about it. Dealing with inconsiderate people is one of the most valuable time management skills. Try telling anyone that you make an appointment with that you won't wait for longer than five minutes or so. This will serve to tell them that if they are going to be later than that, they can't expect to find you, and they'll probably make a greater effort to be on time. ![]() Get all Business Coaching articles via
