Time Management Training
Goal Oriented Time ManagementIn many ways, goal oriented time management is the easiest way of all to achieve good time management. If we're working towards a goal that we feel passionate about, it means that we will be more focused and motivated to stick to our plans. This is why so many time management experts insist that their students sit and make a list of their life goals early on in a time management training course. Once you know where you're going, it is a very easy thing to plan your trip. It's as simple as that and this is the premise of goal oriented time management. Basically, everything you do should in some way be connected with working towards your goal or goals. This isn't as austere as it sounds. It can, and should, include time for rest and relaxation and friends and loved ones, for they are all essential to any successful life plan. What is Goal Oriented Time Management?Since the goals are the focus of goal oriented time management, you need to spend some time at the outset working out what your goals actually are. We all have some kind of a goal at the back of our minds as we work our way through life. Goals don't mean the same thing to all of us, however. Some of us feel obliged in some way to follow a goal that sometimes we don't even like. Some of us have a passion that we're born with, such as a gift of some kind. These goals are unavoidable and there's nothing we can do to resist them. Many of us have to work a little to dig out our true goals though. What may be a hobby today could turn out to be a life goal tomorrow. Let's take the example of a woman who loves making beautiful jewelry. First she does this for herself, then she starts making for friends who beg her to do so. Then, one day she gets fired from her regular job. To fill the time, she makes some jewelry. With a flash of sudden inspiration she goes along to the local department store and asks the buyer for the jewelry department if the store would be interested in her work. They would, and she makes her first sale with many more orders to come. A dream is born. If you can make a passion like this your goal for life success, goal oriented time management will be a snap for you. ![]() Get all Business Coaching articles via
