Bellevue Real Estate

by Helen Glenn Court

First a blueberry market, second a Seattle suburb, and now a vibrant small city in its own right, Bellevue real estate is definitely a great choice for any investor. And if you're looking for a place to call home in your own corner of the Pacific Northwest, it's ideal. The benefits include a decidedly low crime rate, a vibrant business community, and a great school system, but that's only the beginning.

The fact is, Bellevue real estate is prime Puget Sound real estate. Three miles to the west across Lake Washington is Seattle. One hundred forty miles to the northwest along Route 5 is Vancouver. Forty miles to the south along Route 5 is Tacoma. But the real attraction of the region is the rugged beauty of the coast, Snoqualmie Falls, Olympic National Park, and Mount Rainer.

There's no shortage, however, of municipal and community highlights, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and cultural venues. From the 1908 Beaux Arts community in Bellevue to Seattle's Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market, there's also plenty of vitality wrapped up in Puget Sound history. You're not very likely to regret investing in Bellevue real estate!

A Quick Preview of the Bellevue Real Estate Market

Bellevue's population, higher by the state's estimate than the last federal census, is an approximate--and diverse--117,000, making it the state's fifth largest city. The median value of its 50,000-odd residential buildings is about $300,000. The average price cited by realtors is about $800,000. You'll do best right off the cuff to link up with a realtor, and you will be assured to make the most of your search.
