Seattle Washington Real Estate
Sammamish Real EstateA blend of small town and suburbia, Sammamish real estate is a wonderful choice whether you're on your own or raising a family. Incorporated only in 1999 with the intent of better serving its community, the city is very well situated--near Routes 520 and 405, within 20 miles of Seattle, three miles from Redmond (Microsoft's headquarters), and convenient to the entire Puget Sound area. Sammamish is in the foothills of the Cascades and within sight, on a clear day, of Mount Rainier's imposing 14,410 feet. With a youthful, diverse, and well-educated population of about 34,000, Sammamish has a very low crime rate, marvelous views of the Cascades, and the same admitted shortage of sunshine for which the Pacific Northwest has gained such a bad reputation. That said, Sammamish real estate is a sound investment and, happily situated on the shores of Lake Sammamish in the Puget Sound wine country, a splendid place to call home. Some of the Particulars of Sammamish Real EstateThe vast majority of Sammamish's 12,000 residential dwellings have been built since 1970. Only 237, according to the last federal census, predate World War II. Median house value, according to the same source, is about $365,000. "There are lies, there are damned lies, and then there are statistics," Mark Twain once accurately observed. Current figures from the Washington Association of Realtors indicate a range of about $150,000 to $2 million. The average selling price today, according to the same source, is perhaps $600,000. Your best bet is to link up with a local realtor savvy with the details of the market, growth prospects, and property turnover. It's a spectacular part of the world. You can't go wrong with Sammamish real estate! ![]() Get all Washington Real Estate articles via
