Mercer Island Realtors

by Helen Glenn Court

Why do you want to be looking for Mercer Island realtors rather than available properties? You don't, in fact. You want to do both, in that order. Face it, 6.5 square miles may not be a vast stretch of real estate, but it does encompass 8,500 residential dwellings. There may be only 100 or 150 on the market at any given time, but that's enough to make the search a full-time one.

Your job is indeed to find a house to call home. There's an efficient and logical way to do that, and the first step is to shop Mercer Island realtors for a compatible match. You're looking for a licensed realtor, someone bound to a code of ethics, someone with both local expertise and years of experience. You're looking also for someone who knows those 6.5 miles of lovely wooded and waterfront property very well indeed.

The entire area is stunningly beautiful, as you're aware. Just to the east are the Cascade Mountains, just to the west is the Olympia Range and the magnificent Pacific coastline. You've got wine country and award-winning vintages (Hoodsport's cabernet sauvignon, for example). Whether kayaking or sailing on Lake Washington, or hiking Mount Rainier in the spring, the opportunities are rich and endless. A bad rap about the sunshine shortage should do little to dampen your enthusiasm. It's a fabulous and beautiful part of the world!

Mercer Island Realtors: Making the Most of Your Search

Just as you research where you want to live, you need to find out something about the expertise of a licensed realtor, how he or she is trained, what the various designations mean. All Mercer Island realtors worth their salt and your time will be members of the Washington Association of Realtors. That membership entails rigorous schooling, training, and licensing--in, among other areas, property rights, contracts and deeds, financing, appraisals, and fair housing.
