Clambake Catering
Boston ClambakesBoston clambakes are a social staple, found at events ranging from wedding receptions to Superbowl Sunday parties. Gathering for a clambake, whether at the beach, or inside a swank venue, creates a sense of community in those who attend. My own family had annual clambakes at the beach, all the way out in California, and I plan on doing the same with my own children. Nutrition and Boston ClambakesClams and lobsters are actually quite a healthy choice for a dinner to partake in. Lobster itself is low in fat, cholesterol, and "bad" cholesterol. In fact, in these respects and in calorie count alike, lobster is a much "healthier" dish than red meat, pork, and chicken! Low in cholesterol, clams (the staple of the best Boston clambakes) also provide important nutrients. With a high iron content, and abundance of other minerals, clams provide essential nutrition for your body. For those on protein-based diets, but wishing to monitor cholesterol and fat intakes, clams remain an excellent choice. Of course, you might have heard the popular notion that you should never eat clams in any month that does not contain the letter r in its name. This rule eliminates clam eating in May through August, but it does so unnecessarily. With carefully monitored conditions in modern clam beds, temperature isn't as much of a huge factor anymore. Of course, clams harvested in the r months are found to be arguably tastier. ![]() Get all Events articles via
