Communication Systems
AvayaAvaya is a relatively new company with a surprisingly long history. Their focus today lies in corporate communications, and they are known around the world as one of the best. Let's examine the history of the company and some of the services and products they offer. What is Avaya?Avaya has technically only existed for about four years. The company was spun off in October of 2000, and has since been listed on the New York Stock Exchange with the symbol "AV." Previous to the spin-off, Avaya was a part of AT&T, Lucent, and Western Electric. The company now enjoys the benefit of combining almost 100 years of experience in communications with the up-to-date knowledge of a contemporary industry leader. They have access to 1,600 patents secured by their predecessors at Bell Laboratories, and they use this technology to stay at the top of the corporate communications industry. They're not done researching, however: since Avaya became its own entity, they have added 100 new patents to their list. Avaya started out by building what they call "bullet-proof" products, from telephones to switching machines to communications cables. Over the years they made the move from analog to digital, and were early leaders in the development of things like digital telephone networks and voice mail systems. Today, the company offers a wide range of cutting-edge services and technology products. They can provide your company with network consulting, can help you build your system, and can sell you the equipment and know-how required to keep it running. ![]() Get all Conference Calling articles via
