Industrial Safety EquipmentWritten by Stacy Chbosky Without industrial safety equipment, many American industries would simply grind to a halt. Without industrial safety equipment like inclinometers, for instance, road crews would not be able to operate. Landfills couldn't be made. Planes couldn't be flown safely. Cranes could not be operated. Bulldozers would lie dormant. Without industrial safety equipment, working in construction would be an impossible nightmare. Although our society is often criticized for being overly litigious, law suits have actually helped raise safety awareness in industrial settings. When my grandfather worked in the steel mill, no one wore safety glasses or ear protection. When my uncle worked in the mill, law suits had raised awareness to the point where glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats were all a must. Taking Industrial Safety Equipment SeriouslySafety equipment isn't worth much, however, if not properly used. The hard hat is no good if it's back in your locker instead of planted on your head. Inclinometers won't help you safely operate a crane if you aren't paying attention to the reading and staying within the limits of operation deemed safe. If you are an original equipment manufacturer (O.E.M.) you may want to add warning labels to your equipment. When ordering safety accessories for your equipment, ask about free labeling. Most companies charge for creating specialty labels, but some do not, especially when you order in bulk. Didn't find what you were looking for?
