Rare Masonic BookMasonic and esoteric books are among those listed as rare and valuable. Since many have heard of Free Masons, but few know anything about them, here is a short overview of their origins and reason for being. Purported to be a social organization, Free Masonry supports strange elements of secrecy and legend. Some have considered them to be a Christian brotherhood while others see them as a conspiracy that is responsible for huge financial, political, and cultural movements around the world. Other names for Free Masonry are the Brotherhood, the Order of the Craft, and the Lodge. There are three levels of participation, and the first level knows very few of the organization's secrets. They claim not to be a religion, but, rather, a fraternal organization that promotes morality and charity and studies philosophy. Their real origins are shrouded in mystery and accounts of their early days often have glaring misrepresentations of historical fact contained within their assertions. Buying a Rare Masonic BookRare Masonic books are generally about the organization, but they can also be about many different religions and philosophies as well. There is even a Masonic Book Club that offers reprints of some of their earlier books. There are even entire websites devoted to selling rare Masonic books, including out of print and collectible Masonic books These unusual books are prized by some collectors. They often include widely divergent philosophies and unique interpretations of how the world works. At the same time, they also express a desire to help the world to get back to a more moralistic societal base. In fact, they issue a call to other Free Masons to assist in this process in order to fend off the encroachment of invasive technology into human life. ![]() Get all Rare Books articles via
