Radiant Heat Saunas

Written by Michael Federico

Radiant heat saunas have an entirely different effect on the body than steam saunas. A steam sauna heats the air in the room. This creates high percentages of humidity and causes those inside to sweat. Radiant heat saunas heat objects as opposed to air. This keeps the humidity to a minimum.

Weight loss can be a major benefit of radiant heat saunas. The deep heat penetration they provide helps a person safely burn calories quickly. This is not necessarily true of the steam saunas. Many people prefer these dry saunas to wet ones, because even though they are usually set to higher temperatures, they do not feel as hot. The use of a convex heater in radiant heat saunas also means that the infrared rays that are being used as a heat source are more evenly distributed, allowing everyone in the sauna to experience the same effects.

Buying Radiant Heat Saunas

While this style of heating system is relatively new, it has become extremely popular. People are finding that they are getting all of the sauna's benefits in a shorter time. Due to the demand, most manufacturers now carry various models of radiant heat saunas. They can be commonly found in cedar, birch, or oak. There are outdoor radiant models, as well as indoor sauna baths and showers.

Accessories can be added for those willing to spend the extra money. Companies can add simple things like back rests or magazine racks to the sauna. They can also provide buyers with incredibly complex finishing and doors that feature original artwork or reproductions of classic masterpieces.
