Portable Bathrooms

ADA Bathrooms

by Seth Cotterell

ADA bathrooms are too frequently a rare and precious commodity. Even in some places where large groups of people congregate and sanitation seems to have been an important concern, ADA bathrooms are often woefully lacking. This can sometimes cause serious difficulties and frustrations on the part of the people who really and truly need special accommodations.

ADA Bathrooms Make Life Easier

While non-disabled people have no difficulties using ADA bathrooms, the reverse is not applicable. A disabled person cannot simply use a non-ADA bathroom without considerable difficulty and even then it is sometimes a virtual impossibility. With a little foresight, this situation can be averted with the new portable ADA bathrooms.

One of the main differences is entry. ADA bathrooms are designed to lower directly to the ground. This means that entry ramps can be short and easily maneuverable. Customers or visitors won't have to struggle to get in and out of the ADA model. Once inside, there is plenty of room to maneuver wheelchairs or other personal mobility aids.

Just because they are designed with different customers in mind, don't think you have to give up any of the conveniences of other portable bathrooms. ADA models have freshwater tanks, heated water, toilets, showers, sinks, heating, air conditioning, and all the other amenities you could imagine in a portable bathroom facility.
