Scooby Doo Books

Written by Serena Berger

Scooby Doo books are a great way to share some nostalgic moments with younger siblings or even your own children. While still shown in syndication, Scooby Doo first premiered in 1969, and has since spawned nearly 20 different television series totaling more than 300 episodes, as well as major motion pictures and video games. With the quirky ensemble of characters, almost all children can identify with one of the gang.

The lighthearted adventures of the group always entail solving a mystery, and the viewer or reader is able to solve it along with them. Scooby Doo books present readers with the same information to put the clues together and figure out who is the culprit. And, as with many cartoons targeting a young audience, the good guys always win by foiling the nefarious plots of evil doers and subsequently providing a moral compass to children.

Personalized Scooby Doo Books
The easiest way to enrapture an audience, regardless of the medium, is to make them feel involved in the story. Personalized stories allow children to be characters in stories, having them set in their hometown with their friends as other characters. Rather than just being an outside observer trying to solve the mystery, personalized Scooby Doo books will let your child work along side Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma and Fred.

While some animation has become more graphic recently, Scooby Doo does not stray from its original style, presenting fun, positive family entertainment. If you know a child that liked either of the movies, Scooby Doo books are certain to be popular with them, making reading that much more appealing. With cartoons changing as fast as sitcoms, a show that has spanned the generational divide can strengthen a bond between an adult and child by providing pop cultural common ground.
