GE AC Motors

by Sierra Rein

When it comes to many of the high quality small, medium or super-duty machines out there, GE AC motors can accompany virtually any application. A GE AC motor can be found for every machine out there, from the smallest fan to large chemical, steel mill and mining industry appliance. Plus, all GE products meet all local safety and design codes and are made of the highest quality parts on the market today.

An "AC" motor is one that uses an alternating current from an electromagnetic field coil to power the unit. GE AC motors are designed for both domestic and commercial use and can be used in many different types of equipment. Most can be installed into non-GE products quickly and easily with a minimum of effort.

A Myriad of GE AC Motors to Choose From

The most popular types of General Electric AC motors include air compressors, brake, farm purpose, pump and explosion proof motors. Air compressors can be used with high-pressure spray washers, mixers of cement and other chemicals, and a variety of shop tools and equipment units. Brake motors are good for conveyors, industrial overhead doors and indexing machines.

GE AC motors are indispensable for farm aeration fans, incubators and hatcheries, high and extra-high torque irrigation systems and auger drive applications. The GE Industrial Systems Division also offers a large catalog full of pump motors, from centrifugal and sump pumps to designs for spas, jets and pools. Explosion proof AC motors are essential for hazardous environments like paint and varnish plants, coal processing units, and refineries of gasoline or other volatile liquids.
