Siebe Actuators

Written by Sierra Rein

Siebe actuators are great examples of automatic actuation machines. Siebe, a part of Invensys Building Systems, is ISO 9001 certified and offers a wide array of HVAC control systems and devices. These products are often the highest recognized in terms of quality and reliability and can meet most commercial and personal HVAC demands.

For those unfamiliar with the term, an actuator is the part of a refrigeration or heating unit that puts the process into an automated action. A set of patterns is pre-programmed into the actuator to run a series of actions. Thus, Siebe actuators allow the internal cooling or heating action to occur without the need of a human to control or oversee the process.

The History Behind Siebe Actuators

The Siebe Company first began as the brainchild of one Augustus Siebe, a British developer who invented one of the first diving helmets in 1819. The Siebe Company acquired the Foxboro Company (maker of machines and tools) in 1990 and the Triconex, APV and a myriad of other manufacturing companies in the late 1990s. Eventually, Siebe and a company called BTR merged to create what is now known as the Invensys Building Systems Corporation.

With such a long history behind this product, it is no wonder that it is as popular as it is today. There are currently many places to find Siebe actuators. One can go directly to the manufacturer's website or look for discounted product lines on a number of dealer sites.
