Ranco Thermostats

Written by Sierra Rein

When it comes to controlling temperature in commercial and domestic HVAC units, very few products come close to Ranco thermostats. With over 50 years under its belt, the Ranco Company knows how to make and design very effective and reliable thermostats for refrigeration, air conditioning and heating demands. These are manufactured with commercial applications in mind, but can be put towards private home use as well.

The most popular of all Ranco thermostats is the K-series. These thermostats are compact in size and can be placed on the wall using either a standard mounting or bracket hook. They can be connected to any system with capillary lengths between 300 to 3000 mm.

For example, the K36 cycling thermostat was created for heating application units. Due to its very quick reaction time, it is great for low volume water boilers. Customers can specify the temperature differential settings and have the factory set them before they are shipped to the field.

On the other hand, the K22 Ranco thermostats are made for fixed or adjustable air conditioning units. These use a basic cycling control with a SPDT switch to adjust to either narrow or wide temperature differentials. They can be connected and applied to air conditioners, heat pumps, icemakers, and as a way to control condenser fans.
