Antifungal CreamsAntifungal creams are readily available on the Internet through online pharmacies. Antifungal creams are most often recommended for three specific conditions: athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. In most cases, you can treat these conditions at home using antifungal products. However, if the condition does not improve over several weeks you may need to talk to your doctor about taking anti-fungal pills. Most fungal skin infections are fought with creams, sprays or powders containing either "azoles" or "aftates." Both of these active ingredients kill fungus on the skin by being regularly applied topically for several weeks. Both these medications are safe to use when directions are followed carefully. Regardless of the severity of the condition you're treating, it is very important that you use antifungal treatments for the entire recommended cycle even if your condition appears to improve. Stopping treatment early may make you vulnerable to repeated outbreaks. Antifungal Creams: Aftates and AzolesThough there are many varieties of aftates, most well-known brand name products that treat athlete's foot or jock itch use Tolnaftate. A one percent solution is used in antifungal creams, solutions, sprays and powders to treat these conditions. Most traditional pharmacies will have these products, though selections may not be as wide as an online outlet. For at home treatment of ringworm, antifungal creams containing azoles are most often recommended. Specifically, you can look for products with miconazole or clotrimazole. A number of brand name products contain these active ingredients. ![]() Get all Pharmacy articles via
