Bacitracin Ointments

Bacitracin ointments are topical antibiotic treatments. They are used to prevent infection and speed healing in minor cuts, scrapes and burns. Some bacitracin ointments are infused with other antibiotics to enhance their infection fighting power. Still others others add ingredients known to fight scars and promote skin health.

Combo Bacitracin Ointments

Double antibiotic ointments typically combine bacitracin with polymyxin B sulfate, increasing its strength against infection. Triple antibiotic ointments take bacitracin and polymyxin B sulfate and throw in neomycin--creating essentially a dream team of infection fighting power. Some bacitracin ointments on the market today, in addition to being double or triple strength, are infused with skin healing and scar preventing ingredients like aloe vera, vitamin e, and cocoa butter.
