When buying bed safety rails, make sure that they are the correct dimensions for the bed at home. Like any restraining device, bed safety rails must fit the bed accurately so there's minimum risk of getting trapped. When installing them, make sure that there are no gaps big enough for the head or neck to be trapped. Check, too, that the bed fits even when sat or laid upon, since gaps can happen with weight shifts.
