Verizon Cell Phones

by Charles Peacock

Verizon cell phones are available only if you sign up for cell phone service with Verizon. Contrary to what many people think, Verizon does not actually manufacture any of their own cell phones. Verizon cell phones are typically just standard models from independent manufacturers that are ready to work on the Verizon network.

Choosing Verizon Cell Phones

For their prepaid plans, Verizon offers two different cell phones. The first model is the LG VX3200pp, which is a flip-phone that offers a color screen, text messaging and a speakerphone feature. The other prepaid Verizon model is the Kyocera KX414pp, which is not a flip phone. The Kyocera KX414pp offers text messaging, voice dialing, and a five line STN color display.

If you are interested in a long-term cellular plan, there are many more models of Verizon cell phones available for you to choose from. Verizon offers phones from Nokia, Kyocera, Samsung, Audiovox, and several other manufacturers. Their cheaper models usually cost around $20 if you sign up for a two-year contract, while their more expensive models go for up to $500.

Verizon offers a wide range of flip-style phones, perhaps more than any other service provider. If you're looking for a regular non-flip phone, you may be unhappy with your choices. At the same time, Verizon also has an extensive line of Blackberry and Pocket PC devices, although many of them are quite expensive--even with a long term service plan.
