Cingular Cell PhonesCingular cell phones take advantage of Cingular's advanced GSM network, and provide some of the best coverage and sound quality available in the country's major markets. Since GSM service is not available in many rural areas (where older CDMA technology is still predominant), Cingular cell phones are best for people who live in major urban and suburban areas. Cingular cell phones are available with prepaid plans, family plans and regular individual plans. Varieties of Cingular Cell PhonesCingular offers a decent variety of both flip-phones and regular cell phones, so if you have a preference for either, you'll still have a choice of several different models. Cingular has contracts with Nokia, LG, Samsung, Motorola, Siemens and Sony Eriksson, so you can get Cingular cell phones from each of these manufacturers. In fact, most dual and tri-band GSM phones will work on the Cingular network if you simply insert your Cingular SIM card in the phone. Cingular offers four different free phones if you sign up for a long-term contract. Two of these phones (the Samsung X427M and the LG C1300) are flip phones, and the other two (the Sony Ericsson T237 and the Nokia 6010) are regular-style phones. All of these phones offer color screens and text messaging capabilities. If you're willing to spend a bit more, Cingular also offers a variety of camera phones. These are available in both regular styles and flip-phone styles, and some of them even have the ability to record short videos. Cingular also supports several Blackberry models and Palm pocket PC models. ![]() Get all Cell Phones articles via
