Newest Cell PhonesSometimes it seems like the newest cell phones are always slightly out of reach. You buy a phone that's supposed to be the best, only to discover two weeks later than a new model has taken its place. If you're interested in the newest cell phones, it's probably a better idea to focus on features that you really want and need over the desire to simply have the hottest model on the market. What the Newest Cell Phones OfferThe newest cell phones are much more than simple devices for making calls. They are gradually evolving into multi-purpose devices that help us in all sorts of ways over the course of the day. Each year, cell phones are released that combine functions of other personal electronic devices with the ability to make calls. Camera phones are a great example of cell phones absorbing other types of technology. Camera phones still aren't able to take pictures with the same quality as expensive digital cameras, but I believe that in a few years they will. The day will come when your cell phone functions as a music player, a video camera, an organizer, and an Internet browser. If you're willing to spend the money, that day is actually already here. There are phones available that have all the functions I mentioned above, although they're probably not as good at each individual task (say, playing MP3s) as a stand-alone device. Before cell phones take over everything, they'll have to see some substantial improvements in terms of ergonomics and user interface. ![]() Get all Cell Phones articles via
