Children's Unitard

A children's unitard can be used for dance classes, for performances, or underneath dance costumes. There are two main types of unitards. The first type is designed to be seen and can be worn as dance attire. The second type of unitard is also known as a body tight. It is designed to provide support and an additional layer of lining underneath a dance outfit or costume.

Children's Unitard Choices

Children's unitards that can be used in class and for performances are available in many different styles and colors. Some style options include tank, camisole criss cross, hooded, or long sleeve unitards. Most unitards are completely form-fitting and have either long pants or shorts on the bottom half. However, some unitards have wide leg or capri style pants as well.

Body Wrappers and Capezio make unitards from nylon and offer colors such as black, white, nude, and red. Bal Togs has a more extensive collection of unitards for dancers, made from cotton and Lycra. Unitards are often used as body liners underneath dance costumes. Unitards are a popular undergarment choice because they create minimal lines under tight clothing. Unlike tops, briefs, or spandex pants, unitards do not create a seam line at the waist. They are completely connected from the top to the bottom without a center seam. Unitards used as body liners are often made from thin materials such as nylon and Lycra.
