Dance Wear
Footless Dance TightsFootless dance tights are desirable for many dance and exercise needs. They allow you to dance barefoot if you desire and they can also be worn with dance shoes. Wearing dance shoes without tights that cover your feet is often preferred because tights can make your feet slip around inside of dance shoes. This is especially true with jazz and tap shoes. Ballet shoes are designed to be worn with tights and usually fit more snugly than other types of dance shoes so you may choose full-footed or convertible tights for ballet. Choices of Footless Dance TightsFootless dance tights are available in the same colors as standard dance tights. Light pink and theatrical pink are the most common colors for ballerinas to wear in class or performance. Footless tights are more common for jazz, tap, and modern styles of dance. Typical colors of tights for these dance styles include nude, suntan, black, and sometimes white. Many different dance wear companies now make footless tights in addition to footed and convertible tights. These companies include Capezio, Body Wrappers, and Danskin. Footless tight styles can go to the ankle, calf, or to the knee, depending on your preference. Footless dance tights are available in different materials from standard tights because they can be used for so many purposes. Footless tights can be matte or shimmery, and thick, or thin in texture. Some styles are run-proof, while others are very delicate. The most durable and comfortable footless tights are made from a Lycra spandex and Supplex blend. Standard hold and stretch tights are made from a blend of nylon and Lycra spandex. ![]() Get all Dancewear articles via
